Software Engineering, Development, Programming, and Network Support

Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) – Department of Defense

STS developed and now supports the maintenance and improvements to the Department of Defense Joint Staff J7 Lessons Learned Information System. This system is used by every Service, Combatant Command and DoD Agency as the System of Record for Lessons Learned / Knowledge Management and Sharing. This project evolved from storyboards within the United States Marine Corps to the system being selected as the best of breed, and then System of Record for the Department of Defense. The technology evolved from a single server on an incubation network to multiple servers on three different security-classification networks supporting over 100,000 users. Nsite worked with numerous DoD stakeholders to develop this process, and we continue to evolve the software to meet the end users’ needs.

Online Resource for Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Data (ORCHID) – Defense Intelligence Agency

STS developed and supports the ORCHID system, a Lessons Learned capture system based on the JLLIS system described above. This project has evolved over several years from a concept to an integral part of the DIA CI/HI knowledge sharing and improvement processes.  This system resides on higher classification networks and services the requirements of Defense Intelligence Agency, Counter Intelligence and Human Intelligence.

STS’ Quality Assurance Program

Below please find a brief synopsis of our Quality Assurance Program.

STS’ Quality Assurance Program ensures that work under our Seaport-e contract is managed and supported by utilizing existing organizational structure, procedures, processes and resources needed to implement quality management.  The STS Quality Assurance Program is comprised of the following areas:

  • Policy & Objectives
  • Self-Inspection Plan (Corrective & Preventive Plan, Management Reviews, ISO Audit, Configuration Audit, Software Quality Control, Peer Review and Performance Management)
  • Internal Staffing Plan (Organization Staffing Plan, Role & Responsibility Plan, Training)
  • Detailed Quality Control Procedures

Focusing our quality efforts on these areas has allowed us to ensure that quality products & services are delivered to our customers on time and on budget.  This proven program is based on industry best practices and proven quality frameworks of ISO 9001:2008 for all software development efforts.  The program will also leverage IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 best practices for achievable and repeatable results in the management of parallel tasks that encompass multiple environments.

This combined framework will ensure a repeatable and efficient process that minimizes cost while ensuring consistency of the customer experience and maximizing customer satisfaction.  We will utilize these quality standards to guide all program team members, including all subcontracting partners and measures, monitors, analyzes and reports the results as an integrated team.
