STS’ Recreation Information Database (RIDB) Team was recently awarded a bridge contract for an additional 7-months of support to the U.S. Forest Service. STS is also part of the winning team for the next iteration of Recreation One Stop (R1S), an interagency partnership among federal agencies to provide reservation services, sharable data, and recreation trip-planning tools for federal lands and waters across the United States.
Nsite, which was acquired by and subsequently merged into STS, hosts and is currently making enhancements to the U.S. Forest Service’s Recreation Information Database (RIDB), a multi-user, cloud-based enterprise geospatial system. RIDB integrates data from a variety of Federal sources and partner organizations to provide the public with searchable and sharable information about U.S. National Parks and Federal recreation activities. It contains detailed records for more than 119,000 Federal recreation areas, facilities, campsites, tours and permit entrances. RIDB can be accessed at https://ridb.recreation.gov
